Español: Escudo de la ciudad de Burgos (España) Según el blasón: Sobre un campo de sinople, medio cuerpo de rey coronado; el rostro de carnación y el cabello cuadrado como se usaba y decía en el medievo; la corona de oro con pedrería y cuatro florones de acanto interpolados de perlas. Manto de púrpura y sobre él tres castillos de tres torres almenados, manposteados en sable. Significan los tres castillos sobre los que la ciudad de Burgos tenía propiedad y jurisdicción y que eran los e Lara, dado a Burgos por Alfonso X, en 1255; el de Muño, dado por Alfonso XI en 1332; y el de Cellorigo, en 1370, por Enrique II. El medio cuerpo de rey, que ya aparece en un documento en 1259 y que se ha llamado el "caput Castellae" por los cronistas, expresa el hecho de ser Burgos capital del reino de Castilla, ciudad en la que nacían reyes, habitaron, administraron justicia y acuñaron moneda. Sobre el cuerpo regio, muralla de plata que corre de parte a parte y se apoya en sus extremos en sendos escudetes con castillos de oro. Dicha muralla se carga sobre su arco con barbacana y con tres torres, la central del homenaje; esta mamposteada de sable. Quiere significar la tierra de Castilla defendida por sus castillos en todos sus confines. El todo cargado de filiera cosida de gules perfilada de oro. Al timbre, una corona real, de la misma traza que la del rey, probando el rango permanente de la ciudad, madre de reyes (quae reges peperit), según leemos en los títulos de Burgos. Como lambrequines, unos ramos de sinople, frutados en oro y cintas de gules en las que se leen, en sable, los titulos mas preciados por los burgaleses: "Caput Castellae", "Camera Regia", "Prima voz et fide" ...(Cabeza de Castilla, Cámara del Rey y la Primera en voz y en lealtad).
